One midnight conversation. Two best friends.
What started as a casual back-and-forth slowly turned into something more serious, a shared frustration with how motion was often treated, and a shared excitement for how it could be done better.
By the end of that conversation, Rsquare had started to take shape. Named after the two of us - Raz and Rishabh, it began with a simple idea: to build a studio that cares deeply about motion, collaboration, and the details most people rush past.
That instinct is still at the core of everything we do. Same curiosity. Same care. Just better tools and fewer sleepless nights. Slightly.
Nothing sits still, and neither do we.
At the heart of Rsquare is a simple belief, life is always in motion, and so are the people living it.
From the swaying of trees to the pounding of our hearts, motion is ingrained in our very existence. We all naturally crave movement & are drawn to motion because it mirrors being human.
"Our nature lies in motion; complete rest is death."
– Blaise Pascal
Our core team is intentionally small. Keeping it that way allows us to stay close to the work, move quickly, and stay involved in every decision, from early ideas to the final frame.
Collaboration is central to how we work. Ideas are shared early, debated openly, and shaped together. No one works in isolation, and no one is expected to have all the answers.
Beyond the core team, we collaborate regularly with a trusted network of freelancers, specialists, and partner studios. This extended team plays an active role in shaping the work, not just supporting it. Inviting new perspectives into the process helps us avoid repetition and push each project further than we could on our own.
At Rsquare, collaboration isn’t only about scale or efficiency. It’s about building thoughtful work through shared ownership, mutual respect, and collective intent.

Raz is a motion designer with an unhealthy appreciation for things that move. Before co-founding Rsquare, he worked with studios like Pentagram and Buck on projects for WhatsApp, Microsoft, Adidas, Nike, and more. Beyond motion, he writes, makes the occasional YouTube video, and has a habit of philosophising ordinary things. His obsession with movement eventually led him to dance as well.

Rishabh is a visual and motion designer driven by curiosity. Before founding Rsquare, he worked at Builders Club, ManvsMachine, Buck, and Clim, creating work for brands including Nike, Adidas, and Microsoft. Off the clock, he's usually watching horror films or listening to blues late into the night.

Bardan Gurung is a Kathmandu-based motion designer exploring storytelling through movement. Curious by nature, he is always experimenting with new tools, mediums, and creative approaches.

Orion is a motion and graphic designer based in Pune, Maharashtra. He is a strategic creative, involved in shaping visual identities and digital experiences with clarity and intention. When he's not making pixels move, he's usually savouring different types of coffee or exploring different types of music.

At Rsquare, motion is at the center of how we think. Even when we’re working on branding, typography, interfaces, or visuals, we naturally approach things through movement. Being motion-first influences the way we build systems, tell stories, and shape identities.
Some projects are purely animation-focused, while others expand into branding, interactive work, creative technology, or visual direction, but movement almost always becomes the thread connecting everything together.
The list above covers a large part of what we do, but not everything we can do. We enjoy experimenting, exploring unfamiliar formats, and figuring things out alongside collaborators. So even if your project doesn’t neatly fit into one of these categories, feel free to reach out anyway.
If you're unsure where to start, book a free discovery session. We'd be happy to learn more about your project, answer questions, and explore possible directions.

Motion is what we do, but brand thinking & story is where every project starts.
We're often brought into projects because a brand needs motion, but the real work begins much earlier. Before we think about animation, we try to understand what the brand is trying to communicate, how it behaves, and what role motion can play in expressing that.
That approach has allowed us to work across a wide range of clients, from independent startups and cultural organisations to large global brands and Fortune 500 companies. The industries change, but the questions are often the same: what should this brand feel like, and how can motion help make that experience more distinctive?
We don't believe in applying the same process to every project. Some clients arrive with a clear strategy and need help bringing it to life. Others are still figuring things out and need a collaborative partner to help shape the thinking. Our role shifts depending on what's needed.
The best projects happen when clients see us as more than production partners. We're not interested in simply executing a brief and disappearing. We're motion specialists with opinions, and we believe the strongest work comes from open conversations, healthy challenges, and a willingness to explore ideas together.
Not every client works this way, and that's okay. The partnerships we value most are the ones built on trust, curiosity, and collaboration. Those are the projects where motion becomes more than decoration and starts behaving like a genuine part of the brand itself.

We’ve had the chance to conduct talks and workshops at universities, events, and companies over the years, and we approach every one of them with a lot of care.
Back when we were students, we often felt there was a disconnect between what was taught in classrooms and the kind of work we actually wanted to create. So when we’re invited to speak now, we try to bridge that gap by talking openly about process, decision-making, mistakes, and what the industry genuinely looks like beyond social media and portfolios.
In professional environments too, motion teams are often small and fast-moving. Coming in as motion specialists allows us to help teams sharpen their workflows, understand current trends, and think more deeply about motion as a design discipline rather than just execution.
If you’d like us to speak at an event or conduct independent motion workshops for your team, feel free to reach out at contact@rsquare.work.

Internships at Rsquare aren’t treated as a checkbox or a short-term role. They’re one of the most important ways we grow, learn, and keep the studio honest. Working at Rsquare means being part of a small, focused team that cares deeply about how things are made, and why. Everyone here contributes, questions, and shapes the work in a real way.
We look for people who are serious about the craft and honest about what they don’t know yet. Curiosity, intent, and taste matter more to us than titles or years of experience. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys slowing down to get things right, you’ll feel at home.
You’ll be working closely with us, not around us. That means real responsibility, real feedback, and real ownership over the work you put out into the world. We encourage personal growth alongside studio work, experimenting, learning new tools, refining your point of view, and developing your own voice.
We’re clear about boundaries. Work is work. Family is family. We don’t mix the two. We take both seriously. What we promise is a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where you can do your best thinking without pressure to perform or pretend.
If you care about details, enjoy problem-solving, and believe that motion and design should mean something, not just move, we’d love to work together.
